Meet Misty

Certified Health & Wellness Coach

Hello! I'm thrilled you're here to learn more. 

First, I would like to share the motivation behind Watts Life Design. My enduring fascination with people and how they operate has fueled quite the self-discovery expedition over the years. In college, I was a teacher's assistant for a brilliant Philosophy Professor and it shaped the way I look at life in so many ways. While there were no “philosophy jobs” to speak of, I chose to major in Communications, as I love to write. But, my minor in Philosophy was the most in-depth, insightful and fulfilling work I had done.

 

While I have enjoyed a successful career in journalism, marketing and public relations, I often found myself careening into other fields that pulled my interest.

I have worked with children, written YA books, assisted in accounting, organized product placement and guided customers on product installations. It wasn't that I never enjoyed what I was doing. It just felt as though I was still searching for that perfect fit. While others chatted about current events or other people, I wanted to talk about ideas, thoughts, mysteries … small talk was TINY TALK to me. Alas, I was always the resident weirdo. I was simply uncomfortable. Finally, I had to let go of what was no longer serving me.

Now, I'm eager to impart the wisdom I've gained. Using the Chopra Coaching method, I can help you find your way. While these steps are important, I also find that empathy is paramount. To be completely transparent, here are some things I have endured:

  • Navigating compulsions and additions

  • Losing myself in people-pleasing behaviors

  • The guilt of being a working mother

  • The difficulties in connecting a blended family

  • The complex and challenging world of raising a child with special needs

  • Making a big move where you know little about your new area

  • Being overlooked for job promotions

  • Struggles of weight management

  • Loss of family member to suicide

  • The ambiguous loss associated with Alzheimer's disease

 

While I'm sure this list isn't complete, I assure you have my complete attention and empathy if we share the background experience or not. I would love to work with you to help you find your purpose, set more clear intentions or just managing everyday life expectations. What is a life coach? 

A life coach is a wellness professional who helps you make progress in your life. A life coach can help you establish SMART goals to find your purpose, set your intentions or find ways to work through the struggles in your life. We can mentor, encourage growth, foster change, align goals, give inspiration and so much more. Are you in a challenging situation? Do you feel not quite content or fulfilled? Would you like to improve your overall mindset? These are just a few questions you might want to ask yourself when considering the option of coaching. 

Is a life coach like a therapist? 

While a therapist will help you dig into your past and help you sort through unresolved issues, a life coach is more future focused. A life coach will help you to build the motivation and confidence to tackle your goals and ambitions.
